What’s a link? - LBS

The word link comes from the word hyperlink and is a readable piece of data which when clicked on leads to a different piece of data. The text which is hyperlinked is called an anchor. A link points to a URL (a website or webpage address) which is often called a landing page. Links can be divided into two types: inbound and outbound.

  • Outbound links are links located on your own webpage which point to a different webpage.
  • Inbound links, also called backlinks, are links located on webpages other than your own which point to your page.
